Before and after: timeless coastal living in Laguna Niguel

Once her kids were grown and out of the house, this client wanted a fresh start for their family home.

The client worked with a contractor to renovate the house top to bottom, and Strand Interiors had the opportunity to help furnish, decorate and style it. We also reimagined a current guest room to function as an office by designing a custom built-in desk flanked by a pair of bookcases.

We went for a coastal design aesthetic, which (in my opinion) can quickly become tacky (think seashell décor and signs with phrases along the lines of “beach this way”). With timeless silhouettes, earthy materials and a neutral color palette, we achieved an elegant look with a nod to coastal living that will stand the test of time.
